Coil Formers and Wire Feed Assistance

 


Coil formers are generally designed to have a left-handed or right-handed thread. The turns on adjacent layers do not lie parallel and must cross over at some point. Sometimes these 'hop over' stretches are short and many turns are still in contact with the turns below. The flanges are positioned on opposite sides of the body and help guide the winding wire. Depending on the coil former, this process can take a long time.

 Coil Arrangement

A winding wire enters the first coil of a coil arrangement. The wire is guided along a wire feed assistance to a receiving device. The wire is wound onto the body and then received by a holding device at a defined position. Clamping device 6 receives the winding end of the wire as it passes the reception guide 5. After the winding wire enters the coil former, it passes through the break-through in the holding device and is guided to the next coil former.

The inventive coil former comprises a coil core break-through, which defines the starting position of the winding wire. A second wire break-through is provided in the interior side of the invention. Alternatively, a third flange can be used instead. These additional features make the invention highly useful in the manufacture of insulators and winding devices. It will also benefit electrical and electronic components that are placed inside the coil. A flange may be made of any material and can be used to support and connect wires.

Wire Feed Assistance 

The invention furthermore provides a wire feed assistance 7 that is shaped like an incline. This is a guide that defines the starting position of a winding wire. This is a unique feature of the coil former. This is why it is highly desirable to make use of such a device. However, an inclination may be difficult to achieve, so a wire feed assistance may be necessary. This will enable the winding wire to be wound easily and safely.

An inventive coil former is characterized by a wire feed assistance that is positioned parallel to the flange and allows the winding wire to feed through at a predetermined position. The nose of the holding device is also angled so that it can receive the winding wire. Unlike a traditional coil, this wire feed assistance can be automatically coiled. If a traditional flange is not suitable for the coil, the flange may be made of a material that is too stiff.

 Used for Winding Wire

A coil former of this type is used for winding wire. The first coil of a coil arrangement is the largest one. The winding wire enters the coil at a predefined position and passes through a reception guide. Then, the wire is guided to the next coil former, where the process continues. After it is finished, the wire passes through a clamping device. In this manner, the wire is guided to the next coil of the array.
